Before we build · for business owners

Give us access to respond.io and Meta

To build your setup, our team needs admin access to two accounts: your respond.io workspace and your Meta Business Suite. This guide shows you how to add us to each one in about 10 minutes.

Admin access is for the build only. Once installation and deployment are complete, you can downgrade our access or remove us.

respond.io: Owner Meta: Full control 2FA on every Zelix account ~10 min
A Singaporean business owner adds her agency to her accounts on a laptop while a colleague shows a two-factor sign-in screen on his phone

Why we need access

Everything we build lives inside your own accounts, in your name and under your billing. To set it up, we sign in to those accounts with our own named logins.

With admin access, our team will:

  • Connect your WhatsApp number and your other channels to respond.io.
  • Create and submit your WhatsApp templates to Meta for approval.
  • Build your workflows and AI Agent, including assignment rules and the Instructions it follows.
  • Test everything end to end on your real number before any customer sees it.

respond.io only lets the Owner level connect channels, and Meta only lets Full control manage your WhatsApp account. That is why we ask for the top level during the build.

How we protect your accounts

We take privacy and data protection very seriously. These rules apply to every Zelix team member who touches a client account.

2FA and MFA on every account

Every Zelix team member has two-factor and multi-factor authentication switched on for respond.io, Meta and their Zelix accounts. A stolen password alone cannot get anyone into your account.

Named people only

You invite specific people by email. We never share one login between staff, so you always know exactly who has access.

Only what the build needs

We work on your channels, templates, workflows and AI Agent. We do not touch anything outside the scope of your project.

You can see who is in

Our names appear in respond.io User settings and in Meta's People list for as long as we have access.

You stay in control

You can change our role or remove us at any time, in a few clicks. Your accounts and billing stay in your name.

Read more about how we handle client data on our security page. Have passwords or API keys to send us? Use the encrypted Credentials section of your dashboard, not WhatsApp or email.

Who to invite

Invite each of these people in both respond.io and Meta. Use the email exactly as shown: each invitation goes to that address.

    Add us to respond.io

You need to be an Owner of your respond.io workspace to do this. Repeat steps 2 to 4 for each person on the list.

    1

    Open User settings

Sign in at app.respond.io and go to:

    SettingsWorkspace SettingsUser settings
    2

Click Add User and enter the email

Click Add User and paste one email from the list above.

    3

    Choose the Owner access level

Select Owner. In respond.io, Owner reaches every module except billing, so your plan and payment details stay with you.

Simplified drawing. Your screen may look slightly different.

    4

    Click Add

respond.io emails an invitation to that address. Their email shows as pending in User settings until it is accepted.

Add us to Meta Business Suite

This is the business portfolio that owns your WhatsApp Business account. You need Full control of it to invite people. Repeat steps 2 to 4 for each person on the list.

    1

    Open People in Business settings

Sign in at business.facebook.com, pick the right business portfolio if you have more than one, and go to:

    SettingsUsersPeople
    2

Click Invite people and enter the email

Click Invite people (on some screens, + Add) and paste one email from the list.

    3

    Choose Full control

Under business portfolio access, choose Full control. Older screens call this Admin access.

Simplified drawing. Meta updates this screen often, so labels may differ slightly.

    4

Give access to your WhatsApp account, then send

On the assets step, select WhatsApp accounts, tick your WhatsApp Business account and switch on Full control (or Manage) for it. If we are also running your ads, add your Facebook Page and ad account the same way.

Click Send invitation. Meta emails the invitation, and it stays pending in People until it is accepted.

Not sure which portfolio owns your WhatsApp number? Open Accounts › WhatsApp accounts in each portfolio. The one that lists your number is the one to invite us to.

After launch: downgrade or remove us

Admin access is for the build. Once installation and deployment are complete, you can lower our access or remove us completely. We will tell you when the build is finished.

    In respond.io

Go to Settings › Workspace Settings › User settings and find our names.

    • To downgrade: edit the user and change the access level to Manager or Agent.
    • To remove: revoke the user's access.

    In Meta Business Suite

Go to Settings › Users › People and select our names.

    • To downgrade: change business portfolio access to Basic access, and keep or remove individual assets.
    • To remove: click Remove and confirm.
On a support plan with us? Downgrade rather than remove, so we can still fix issues and update your AI Agent. If we need admin access again later, we will ask you first.

    Common questions

Why admin access and not a lower role?

Connecting a WhatsApp number in respond.io needs the Owner level, and managing WhatsApp templates in Meta needs Full control. A lower role would stop the build partway through.

Can you see or change my billing?

Not in respond.io: the Owner level cannot reach billing. Your plan and payment method stay with you.

In Meta, you keep your own payment methods and ad accounts, and we do not change them unless your project includes running ads for you.

Do I need to share my own password?

No. Never send us your own login. Each of us accepts the invitation with our own account, protected by two-factor authentication.

What if someone leaves the Zelix team?

We remove their access to your accounts as part of our offboarding and tell you who replaces them. You can also remove them yourself in User settings and People.

    Stuck on a step?

Send us a screenshot of where you are and we will guide you through it, or walk through it with you on a short call.
